FOCAL K2 Power 165 K2P - two-way 6.5" component set
- 2-way 6.5″ component kit
TWO-WAY 6.5″ COMPONENT SET
The 165 K2P set consists of two 6½" (165 mm) woofers and is characterized by very high sensitivity (92.8 dB/oct). The set's transducers have the famous yellow Kevlar® diaphragms from the K2 Power series. Light, stiff and with excellent damping - they provide extremely dynamic sound and excellent clarity. Combined with the new TMD suspension, they produce sound without any distortion. The phase plug in the middle of the membrane improves sound dispersion in the vehicle.
The inverted dome tweeter is characterized by unrivaled dynamics resulting from a special 5-micron surface coating that eliminates any metallic coloration.
K2 Power crossovers feature leading audiophile components, meeting Focal's longstanding high standards. Aluminized polypropylene capacitors provide very high resolution along with air core voice coils that provide excellent dynamics. For optimal integration, the KP series kits are equipped with a tweeter level control switch (0/-7 dB, 1 dB per action) and center position adjustment.
KEVLAR® MEMBRANE
The transducers used in K2Power have been completely redesigned. Each component is the result of extensive acoustic research aimed at pushing the boundaries of performance, power and precision. The K2Power Kevlar® membrane, a product of unique technical knowledge "made in Focal", is still unrivaled. Constructed of an ultra-light foam structure sandwiched between a thin layer of Kevlar® aramid fibers and a layer of glass fibers, the K2Power membrane combines three key acoustic quality factors:
- Stiffness
- Lightness
- Attenuation, ensuring precise and dynamic sound.
Progressive lower spring profile
The progressive bottom spring profile of the K2 Power drivers is designed to provide full bass response and increase linearity, precision and dynamic range.
For greater reliability
The components used in the new K2 Power crossovers have been specially selected and optimized to improve control over the effects of heat dissipation. These components, which are essential for managing various channels and the sound stage, are now even more reliable.
